Who we are
My name is Marisa García andI want to take you back to 1998 to understand how everything began. I had just graduated as a Technician in Touristic Enterprises and Activities when, by chance, had a job interview with a construction company. Until that moment, at 22 years old, I didn`t really know what I wanted to do, but two things were clear in my mind; one, I wanted to work with people and two, languages were very appealing to me.
Therefore, happy with my new job and the possibility of being independent, which was always something crucial to me, my real vocation was revealed. Thanks to the trust placed in me by my bosses and with help from nice work colleagues, I became an expert salesperson and realised how gratifying it is to help people make their dream of buying a house come true. I also learned that it is a long and winding road and unforeseen problems can make the most optimistic person feel disenchanted.

Working at the multilingual area of the coast, I also understood the importance of dealing with every customer in their own language and that is why I learned English, German, French and Italian. I would be a liar if I didn`t say that my passion for travelling was decisive when making this decision.
I worked full shifts at weekends, also when my colleagues were on holiday, and I understood what it means to be the person making possible that somebody finds the house wished for.. E That satisfaction look on their faces, the gratitude at the key handover, it`s simply priceless.
After 15 years working at the same company and facing a scenario of a global crisis, the sector collapsed and I had to reinvent myself at a brand-new field, but also sales related. In 2020 I sat back and thought about everything, and then the idea that what I really loved was the real estate sector, it actually felt like a revelation.

Although it was a bit scary, driven by passion and determination built up during all those years, I decided to start my own company. I had always helped others fulfil their dreams, then why not my own?
I had total help and support from Mamen Beltrán, and once we brushed up our knowledge of the real estate sector and with all the courage needed to go out there and work on my own (freelancers will surely understand what I mean), we launched the Idalia Team project, with total respect and love for our profession.
When we decided to create this website, people offered advice..you have to explain what makes you special, original, different… and then we realised that what we really wanted was being normal. Responsible people, honest, professional and trustworthy. Real things don`t need to be changed.
I hope we get to be your choice and we can show you.

It`s true that real estate agencies sometimes do have a bad reputation and to be fair, in some cases it is well deserved. Situations where you ring or write to somebody with no answer, when you make an appointment and get stood up, or they show up an hour later. Other times you are committed to an agency to close a deal but it doesn`t quite turn to be what you expected.
Nobody likes time wasting, and when you feel you have been fooled, looking gobsmacked, it is not nice. In those situations where you feel powerless, it is rather frustrating. You no longer want to buy, sell or rent a property and upon hearing the word “real estate” you automatically cringe.
I, myself, have experience that feeling at times, when I have sold or bought my own house, and that was one of the main reasons why I decided to create Idalia. I thought…if I am nice to others just as well as I like others to be nice to me… that is my life motto, that way nothing can go wrong.
There are good and not so good professionals in all domains, but the fact that the percentage in mine is higher, doesn`t necessarily mean that we are all to blame. I actually can say that those that crossed my path have been really good, hard working honest people.
And so, with the purpose of satisfying all those who trusted me and also those who were somehow reluctant, I started my company with high hopes, great effort and passion.
